Today it serves as Saugatuck’s Town Hall. They have a plaque telling about how there were artifacts buried under the building, and out front it tells of Singapore. Inside there are three levels and the top and ground floors have offices for the city workers.

In 1880 when it was built it was first used as a firehouse for Saugatuck. The fire trucks were positioned to face out the door that is now the walkway. After being remodeled in 1957 to what it currently is today, the town hall. During the renovation they had to make a basement for the building, during the excavation they found many artifacts such as… Indian’s bones, armbands, knives, cloth, and other assorted items. On July 19, 1990 the building was recorded as a historical site of Michigan.
